Autumn is here. So ends the hot summer days at the beach, but it doesn’t mean the party ends now. We’ve got five enjoyable ways to spend the fall season.
Pick from an apple orchard
If you are looking for a day trip that involves spending time outdoors this fall, head to your nearest apple orchard. Apple picking is the quintessential weekend activity this time of year, and you’ll get to enjoy the autumn colors and beautiful weather. After the trip, reward yourself with an apple pie made from fresh apples!
Celebrate Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is one of the biggest parties in the world. Encourage your guests to wear traditional German attire, such as the lederhosen (leather shorts or suspenders) or dirndls (a three piece dress). Hang up Bavarian flags and prepare some authentic German food such as sausages, sauerkraut, and pretzels.
Take a drive to see the leaves
You don’t have to live in New England in order to experience beautiful color-changing landscapes during the fall (Although props if you do!). Find beautiful waterfalls, bluffs, and forests in your state and bring a picnic basket. You’ll get in touch with nature and feel rejuvenated after the trip.
Visit a pumpkin patch
There is so much more to do than picking pumpkins at a pumpkin patch. Most of these farms have family-friendly mazes that help you “get lost” and enjoy the autumn atmosphere. Carve a pumpkin, feed baby farm animals, and shoot a slingshot at pumpkin targets. And you thought you’d only be picking pumpkins.
Throw a football party
It’s football season again! Whether you root for the home team or participate in fantasy football, it’s time to bring out the chips and dip along with the burgers and brats and root for your beloved team.
